I’m your host, Giles Smith – and on today’s I’m joined by another amazing Aussie entrepreneur. Austin Simms is the founder of Dayrize, a software platform revolutionizing our ability as brand owners to assess the sustainability of the products we build.

The Dayrize platform makes it easier to improve products, easier to benchmark their all round sustainability, helps customers make better buying decisions, and provided independent scientific validation to help brands tell their incredible brand stories.
Unlike the incredibly expensive and cumbersome lifecycle assessment approach, the Dayrize system is fast, very cost effective.

In today's show I'm joined by Rikki Gilbey, Founder at WAW Handplanes. Rikki has basically single-handedly propelled the sport of body surfing in Australia. After some early success, Rikki wanted to scale up production with injection molding, but being passionate about ocean conservation, wanted to do his part for the ocean plastics problem.
That turned out to be harder than expected! He was not to be deterred, however. In this show we hear how he spent 3 years making connections, experimenting and ultimately creating Australia's first Ocean Plastic supply chain, giving birth to the amazing BadFish handplane along the way.
